“Nigeria Management” – The Next Ridiculous Hoax on X! / „Nigeria Management“ – Der nächste lächerliche Fake auf X!



Vor ein paar Tagen setzte sich schon wieder ein „Elon Musk Management“-Fake ins Profil eines lieben Freundes auf der Plattform X.

Der Kanditat heisst: David Harris (@Davidharris660).

Er behauptet, aus dem Management von Elon Musk zu kommen und erzählt den Leuten, sie seien „lucky fans“ und hätten die Chance, Elon persönlich zu treffen.

Die Highlights:

1. „Connected via Nigeria App Store“
2. Nur 132 Follower, aber 446 Following
3. Username erst im Juni 2026 geändert
4. Klassischer Scam-Einstieg: „Hi, I’m David… you stand a chance to meet Elon Musk“

Manche lernen es einfach nie.

Natürlich hat mein Freund dieses Profil gleich gemeldet und geblockt. Das perfide ist das auff X rein gar nichts gegen solch Impersonatoren getan wird. Ein vernünftiges, skalierbares, spaCy-konformes Antifaketool würde da Abhilfe schaffen. Aber es scheint das die Plattformen auf denen sich diese Impersonatoren rumtreiben andere Pläne haben.

Daher passt auf Euch auf und was sich bei Euch in die Profile heimlich schleicht. Es könnte ja wie bei meinem Freund ein nigerianischer Fake sein.


A few days ago, yet another "Elon Musk Management" fake snuck into the profile of a dear friend of mine on the platform X.

The candidate is named: David Harris (@Davidharris660).

He claims to be from Elon Musk's management team and tells people they are "lucky fans" who have the chance to meet Elon in person.

The highlights:

1. "Connected via Nigeria App Store"
2. Only 132 followers, but 446 following
3. Username only changed in June 2026
4. Classic scam opening: "Hi, I’m David… you stand a chance to meet Elon Musk"

Some people just never learn.

Of course, my friend reported and blocked this profile immediately. The perfidious thing is that X does absolutely nothing against such impersonators. A proper, scalable, spaCy-compliant anti-fake tool would help. But it seems the platforms where these impersonators hang out have other plans.

So watch out for yourselves and what secretly creeps into your profiles. Just like with my friend, it could be a Nigerian fake.

  Today I learned something. I sent a complaint to the DSA – with screenshots and my story as a victim. Processing time? Probably 4–6 weeks. Or never. My friends have already experienced the “never”. It feels like an opaque system. Everything gets filtered – and most of it probably ends up in the trash. The big scams happen on WhatsApp and Telegram. (I don’t know Signal – and I’m definitely not installing that app.) X is only the transit station for the scammers.
