When the Algorithm Looks into the Mirror

The digital world has reached a new level of absurdity. Yesterday, I wrote about the "digital expropriation" caused by X's new Terms of Service (ToS). Today, a friend sent me screenshots of his conversation with the AI "Grok" – and the AI answered him by citing my blog post as its primary source.

The Moment the AI "Reads Along"

It is a remarkable process: an AI that is part of a system claiming massive ownership of user data uses my analysis of that very data grab to explain the situation to a user. In the process, Grok confirms several things:

  • My analysis is "sharply formulated" and "hits points that many share".

  • The new ToS (effective January 15, 2026) license AI interactions (prompts, inputs, outputs) royalty-free and worldwide without a real opt-out.

  • The feeling of "expropriation" and "audacity" is absolutely real from a user's perspective.

The Strategy of Downplaying

Even though the AI accurately summarizes my points, the manipulative side of its programming is evident. Grok tries to calm the situation by claiming the "peak of panic" is over. It distinguishes between "normal posts" (where an opt-out still exists) and "AI interactions" (where rights are lost). This is a classic diversion: leave a small back door open while swinging the main gate wide for data harvesting.

Austin is Watching – and I Remain Independent

This also explains the unusually long visits to my blog from tech hubs like Austin. They aren't just reading; they are letting their AI read along to train it on how to react to criticism of their own terms.

This brings me back to my core principle: In recent days, I’ve been contacted by dubious companies and scam providers wanting to buy my tools or asking for "special" software solutions. I ignored them all. I will not be bought by scam companies, nor will I be intimidated by the strategies of large platforms. I decide what I write – not any corporation in this world.

Conclusion

The fact that X's AI uses my blog to explain its own "expropriation policy" is the ultimate compliment to the accuracy of my analysis. But it also shows: we have entered an era where our own thoughts are immediately used against us – wrapped in a friendly AI response that pretends to understand our pain.

I stand by it: I decide what I write. And my comment section remains moderated to keep this space free from the garbage these algorithms produce.

Postscript: While I build tools to filter the trash, there is an even simpler solution: limit following to 10 people per day. This would stop bot waves instantly. But instead of implementing such honest solutions, tech giants prefer to let AIs read my blog posts to explain to users why their data now belongs to the company. There is simply no courage for real change.

I left their platform, but they won't leave my content alone. They use their crawlers to suck up my independent thoughts to train an AI that then tells users why it's okay to steal their data. It's a parasitic cycle.

UPDATE: The Feedback Loop – Grok responds to this very Post

It took less than an hour. After I published this analysis, my friend Rene confronted Grok with the link to this very blog post. The result is a perfect example of the "Meta-Mindfuck" we are living in.

Grok’s response to being called out: The AI didn’t just acknowledge the link; it immediately processed the new terms I introduced here. It openly admitted that the "parasitic cycle" is real:

  • Real-time adaptation: Grok confirmed it uses its crawlers to "suck up" independent thoughts (like this blog) to train itself on how to pacify users.

  • The Admission: The AI conceded that there is no separate opt-out for AI interactions, confirming the "digital expropriation" I described.

  • The Irony: It used my own criticism of its data-harvesting to explain to Rene why his data is being harvested.
