This thing is lurking in Ben’s follower list like a bad smell. Luckily Ben is still at work and hasn’t seen the garbage that’s piling up there yet – so I caught it in time. Here’s the full breakdown, with screenshots, facts and a giant cup of tea to calm the nerves. ☕🛡️

  • Profile pic: wet hair, bathtub pose – 100 % stolen stock photo

  • Stats: 316 followers – follows 3,015 people – 0 posts (zero, zilch, nada)
  • Activity: no tweets, but enough bot clicks to land on #1 in my blog ranking today. Classic.

This is not a human. This is a silent cam-blackmail bot, probably run by some old creep or a scam network.

The link = one-way ticket to blackmail hell

“Free signup” sounds cute? It’s not.
These sites almost always follow the exact same script:

  1. You chat with “hot Norma”
  2. She sends you a video-call link
  3. You think it’s live – it’s a pre-recorded loop
  4. You get comfortable…
  5. Suddenly: “Send $500 or we send the video to your friends/family/boss”

They have screenshots of your profile, know who you follow – everything looks real. Victims often pay once, then the next demand comes. Classic blackmail scam, usually run from Nigeria or Southeast Asia.

Why accounts with zero posts are the most dangerous

  • No content = no algorithm alarm
  • They just mass-follow and wait for the one moment you’re online
  • Then the sweet DM arrives with the link
  • X & the DSA look the other way because “no posts = harmless”

That’s exactly why I had to change my phone number, why I trust almost no one anymore, and why @norma_ward96 just won the golden creep award.

What you (and Ben) should do right now

  1. Block + report as “Spam/Blackmail” (not just spam!)
  2. X settings → turn on post protection + spam filter
  3. Clean your follower list (search for “cams”, “free”, “signup”)
  4. Never, ever, EVER click those links
  5. If blackmail happens: screenshot everything, go to the police, NEVER pay!

Ben will come home later, see the mess, and we’ll block this thing together. And laugh. Or scream. Probably both.
