🎄🤶Early Christmas Greetings? – No, Here Are the Absurd Scam Accounts Exposed
The post:
I actually wanted to take a break – but I have to show this. It's too absurd to ignore.
A fake account shares replies from my friend Ben to Grok – just to provoke. Did I allow that? No.
Take a look at this profile (@HappyMama768427): 🤶
What stands out?
- The blue checkmark is directly in the profile picture – not next to the username.
- The account claims to be a “parody”, but only posts scam bait (“DM me for Link”) and redirects to Telegram.
Then there's @elonceo438 – another Telegram troll who barely writes anything themselves and just retweets.
These are not isolated cases. This is the system: X is just the entry point – users are lured and then redirected to Telegram or WhatsApp, where the real damage happens (harassment, scams, financial demands).
This exact blue checkmark trick (in the picture itself) is one of the reasons why the DSA fined X 120 million euros – deceptive verification symbols.
And what does X do? Lets accounts like this continue running.
When will X finally take consistent action against such scam accounts? Or should I lend X my Python textbooks so they can finally build scalable anti-fake tools? It's not that hard.
Take care of yourselves. Report, block, and ignore accounts like this.
