98+ Fake Elon Musk Profiles: Why Doesn’t X Act?
I’m currently sifting through my data piles and can’t help but smirk sarcastically. Since January 2025, fake Elon Musk profiles have been forcing their way into my X profile without invitation—and they’re surprised when I push back immediately!
I’ve now counted 68 of these “Elons” trying to connect with me. And that’s not even including my blocklist on X, where I’ve already blocked another 30 or more of these fake Elon Musk accounts.
It’s been a real witch hunt! But together with my friends, we’re now using this blog to protect ourselves and stop them from coming after our money again.
Here’s an example: On March 6, 2025, another one of these profiles (@Real_Elon39374) followed me. I set clear boundaries right away and asked: “Why are you following me? Look at my profile! How much clearer do I need to be? I know you’re not real—just an AI or someone after my bank details. I have enough other problems; I’m the wrong person for these games!”
I also made it clear I wouldn’t follow back because the profile doesn’t even show a real photo—it’s just pretending to be someone it’s not.
The response? A curt: “Okay, have a nice day if you don’t believe me.” Seriously?
Is this the new tactic—getting snarky just because I’m upfront from the start? I just want to keep my profile clean, free of these fake Elons. So, I reported and blocked the account. It wasn’t the first time with this kind of profile—and it surely won’t be the last.
I keep wondering: Why don’t these people read my profile before following me? It clearly says I don’t want this!
And honestly, the real Elon Musk has better things to do than chat with a simple woman from Germany like me—especially since my English isn’t even perfect. In just a few months since January 2025, I’ve counted 98+ such profiles—that’s a bad joke! At some point, I started reporting and blocking them all. It’s become a daily task.
When I checked my USB drive properly today, I was shocked by how much data I’ve collected on these fake profiles. I have so much evidence that X and the authorities could probably track these scammers down immediately. But it makes me wonder: Why aren’t X and Elon Musk doing more to stop these people? I could provide so much data to help, but sometimes I question whether X and Elon Musk even want to tackle this issue. I mean, if they have access to phone numbers, IP addresses, and location data from me, what’s the problem?
Could it be because I’m German, and they don’t take my reports as seriously?
What do you think—is this a problem they’re ignoring, or am I being overlooked because of where I’m from?
I just want peace and a clean profile. Is that so hard to understand? Have you had similar experiences with fake profiles? How do you deal with them?
